Who knew that Rudyard Kipling, "the quintessential author of the age of the British Empire at its zenith, was also a New Englander"? Kipling married a woman from Vermont and lived in Brattleboro for four years early in their marriage. He even wrote the first portion of The Jungle Book there. Live and learn, Neo Neo-Con did the research. You can even stay in Kipling's house, which is managed by the Landmark Trust of England. Fascinating stuff!
