That's what I ask everyone I'm talking to these days about voting for Scott Brown in the Special Election to be held Tuesday, January 19th. And I'm talking to a lotta people: family, friends, co-workers, mail man, manicurist, hairdresser, supermarket cashier, neighbors, the UPS guy. Enough already of another liberal Democrat going to the Senate from Massachusetts, let's end that era, shall we?
"....there is little reason to believe that, on any major issue, (Democrat candidate) Ms. Coakley would constitute anything other than another link in an unbroken chain of Democratic votes to expand the reach and role of government."
"That lockstep mentality and one-party rule has not served the people of Massachusetts well on Beacon Hill, but led to a culture of corruption and arrogance. The same has been true on Capitol Hill, where, whether under President Bush or President Obama, large majorities for one party or the other have led to complacency, overspending, and a willingness to shutter debates and muffle the voice of the people."
So true, so true. More people coming out and backing Scott Brown:
- State Police Association of Massachusetts today endorsed Scott Brown’s bid for U.S. Senate,
- The Boston Herald backs Brown ("If you love what’s going on in Washington, well, then by all means vote for Martha Coakley."), and
- The Lawrence Eagle Tribune also endorsed Scott Brown. Excepts:
"Now, voters in Massachusetts can make a real change in Washington. They can put a stop to the leftward surge in politics led by an unfettered Democratic Party. They can end the runaway spending that is heaping unimaginable debt on our children and grandchildren, leaving them the legacy of a bankrupt nation. They can stop the one-party rewrite of health care laws that polls show a majority of citizens does not support."
"...Philosophically, Brown is the kind of Republican Bay State residents traditionally have supported — conservative on fiscal policy and moderate on social issues."
The final televised debate between the senate candidates is tonight at 7 PM (NECN, I think).
If you can, please donate today to the Scott Brown Money Bomb, to fund continuing advertising through the election. As Legal Insurrection blogs: "Today is your chance to stop the runaway train in Washington, D.C. Just do it."
Don't you want to be part of a historic upset in Massachusetts?
