Enquiring minds want to know:
- Imam Hafiz Muhamad Masood of Sharon, MA was arrested back in November of 2006, part of a nation-wide religious visa sweep. He is out on bail, and is facing criminal charges (previous postings here). He has no legal visa status at this time and his job as imam with the Islamic Center of New England (ICNE) of Sharon was terminated. Masood and some family members still reside at the Sharon ICNE "estate" that would probably rent out for something like $5000 per month. The electricity and gas expenses are probably about $1000 per month. Would this expense be justfied as a charitable expense under US Tax Laws for a person who is not employed with the community? Just wondering.
- There is apparently another Muslim lady who has made the Sharon center her home. She is a legal permanent resident to the U.S. from Pakistan. The ICNE administration apparently called the Police on her, but she is back. She is claiming that if Masood can live there for free, then as a Muslim Lady, she can live there also. Perhaps the people who have been sympathetic and supportive of Masood can also come to the aid of this lady.
