I'm participating inthe 2,996 Project, a tribute to the victims of 9/11. 2,996 volunteer bloggers have each "adopted" someone who was killed on that day. Each person will pay tribute to a single victim. My guy is Chris Michael Kirby, 21. I don't know anything about this young man yet, but I'll do some research and write wjhat I learn about his life and character. As the 2,996 website says, "We will honor them by remembering their lives, and not by remembering their murderers."
Also received an e-mail today reminding me to fly the flag on September 11th, passing it on:
"We do this in honor of those who lost their lives on 9/11, their families, friends and loved ones who continue to endure the pain, and those who today are fighting at home and abroard to preserve our cherished freedoms. In the days, weeks and months following 9/11, our country was bathed in American flags as citizens mourned the incredible losses and stood shoulder-to-shoulder against terrorism."
It would be pretty cool to see thousands (millions?) of flags flying on September 11th.
