I received this notice from a book-lover friend. New Orleans needs help reconstructing its public library, where eight of twelve branches were completely ruined by Hurricane Katrina. They're looking for monetary contributions or book donations Time to clean out your bookshelves, and send your extra books to New Orleans.
The New Orleans Public Library is asking for hardcover and paperback books for any age reader in order to restock their shelves. Anything not used will be distributed to destitute families or sold for fundraising. Tell the Post Office that the box is for the library in New Orleans and you will be given the media mail rate.
