Here's what I wrote:
Dear Elected Representative of Americans,
I've been following the health care/insurance "reform" for months now, and I'm convinced more than ever that we need to Kill the Bill. My main reason is that so-called solution doesn’t match the problem. It's too expensive, and our country needs to stabilize the economy, not throw a trillion dollars into a government-run black hole. This is a massive plan, along the lines of Social Security and Medicare/Medicaid, yet no one seems to have really read the bill or understand how it will really work. The consequences would be vast, affecting Americans forever, and we barely understand them.
It's time to Kill the Bill, all of the bills (House and Senate) and start over. Government -run systems, whether federal or state (as I know in MA) don't work as well as private sector health plans. They're more costly, less effective, maddening to figure out, and would result in higher prices and a decline in medical innovation. It's time to step way back, and enact a series of smaller reforms, including letting the health insurance industry operate more freely with less government regulations. Take down the regs that prevent selling health insurance across state lines. Remove any mandatory coverage and allow people to purchase the insurance coverage they want, not what politicians think should be covered.
Our medical system provides top-notch care for the majority of Americans. It will improve and serve more people if there's less government intervention, not more. KILL THE BILL.
