Sissie got up wicked early Tuesday morning and captured a wondrous photo of the lunar eclipse, perched above the Mystic River bridge. Gorgeous. Reprinted here with her blessing.
Squaring the Boston Globe takes note of the Glob'e's refusal to publish Berke Breathed's Opus cartoon last Sunday, about character Lola Granola becoming a Radical Islamist ("hot new fad on the planet"). Full-size cartoon here at Salon. "See? We're always getting attacked! Ever since the 11th century! APOLOGIZE!" Can't wait for next week's cartoon, Beach Time.
Jill at Business of Life is always finding neat stuff about healthier living (frequently involving the ingestion of chocolate and red wine), and she pointed to this NY Times article Lobes of Steel. Exercise makes for a smarter, faster brain. Jill writes that in addition to exercise, "Other factors contributing to neurogenesis, the creation of new brain cells: marijuana, moderate alcohol intake, sociability and chocolate while heavy alcohol consumption, stress and a diet high in saturated fats and sugar inhibit the production of new brain cells."

Moderation in all things. Thanks for the link, dollface. :-)
