CNN seems to delight in putting the death tolls due to bombings in Iraq front and center, day after day. It's understandable that American media covers a war where American forces are fighting. It's not understandable why CNN (and almost all other American media outlets) ignore roadside bombings in Pakistan, or the suicide bombings, beheadings, and attacks taking place daily in Lebanon, Phillipines, Turkey, Algeria, Thailand, Indonesia, Somalia, Sudan, etc.
For alternate sources of news, try Michael Yon, an independent journalist and photogapher who's reporting from Iraq. For news about Lebanon, try Michael Totten.
For "coverage of the Iraq War you won't get on the news," go here. As the gentleman says:
Support the Troops. Let Them Win.
That blog, Outside the Wire, has a good idea for a bumper sticker, "Support the Troops, Let Them Win".
Amen!
